IQRA is a Finnish Islamic association established in 2002. The purpose of Iqra is to translate, publish and distribute Islamic literature in Finland. The growing population of Finnish-speaking Muslims and the fact, that barely any truthful and published information about Islam was available, was the reason for the establishment of this organization. Also there was a great need for Da’wah material to be published. The association does not aim for any financial benefit and our sole aim is to increase the Da’wah and Islamic knowledge in Finland.

All the members of Iqra are Muslims. The translators and other members of the association do not get any financial benefits for the work they are doing for the association. Iqra is financed by donations, and all the possible gains for selling books are used to publish further books.

Besides actual members, Iqra has support members. The support members do not take part in the actual process of book translations and publishing, but give Iqra small financial support. The support members are informed twice a year about the process of Iqra’s publications and other possible activities. The annual fee for support members is 25 €.
